The buttons have a positive click-type operation and are located on the tip of the watch to prevent accidental knocking.  Once the timer is running, onl the start/stop button and the mode button have any functionality. 

A major improvement for this range is the programmable count up. You program in the course time, press start and the timer will progress towards that time while giving a beep to signal each minute passing before moving into final 30-second warning beep sequence.

The Optimum Time Event watch also benefits from an adjustable viewing angle, a fully adjustable elastic strap, carriage mounting option and is water resistant.
